The Front Fender Wells are open to the engine compartment, also the rear fender wells are also not sealed. However the front wells are more important as water from the roadway shouldn't enter the engine compartment, especially since the engine and most other parts in the compartment is made of aluminum, plastic and the like.
Previously with cast iron and steel parts this wouldn't be much of a concern even though Manufacturers sealed the engine compartment anyway. This is another way Ford is trying to save a buck to stay competitive with others, why cant they just build a superior product?
They stop selling Ranger's so that They can claim F150 is the best selling trucks. Its sad when Dodge can now claim this honor.
Monetary Loss: $29000.
