In 2000 Ford Motor Company sued me for registering the name www.1stford.com. At the time I owned a new Lariat F250 Diesel, 2000 Explorer and each of my high school kids had F150s. I had owned a number of classics and saw this as an opportunity to create a classic site. After receiving FMC’s lawsuit against Great Domains, which I was named, I contacted my lawyer who recommended that I pay FMC lawyers and give them the name. It was never used or posted but I did not have the money to go defend it in Detroit. This really pissed me off and as a result I sold all the Fords and we have never purchased another one.
Ford lost a loyal customer of over 30 years and all the future business from my family over their stupidity. Great job Ford, you cost me $4500 and it cost you $100,000s in future business.
