I have a 2009 Ford Escape and the power steering recently went completed out after experiencing a shaking steering wheel for about a week. Was told that I needed the Torque sensor replaced which cost hundreds of dollars but it didn't fix the problem as wheel is now pulling hard to the left.
I'm now being told that entire steering column needs replaced. This is the EXACT problem cited in the previous recall #14S05 of hundreds of thousands of Ford Escapes and Mercury Mariners.
I called Ford "Customer Care", however I'm being told that my VIN is not included in the recall and basically "sorry about your luck". Must just be crazy coincidence that I'm having the exact problem, but getting ZERO help from Ford.
