I have a 2001 Ford Ranger with 105000 miles on it. On December 20, 2010 the fuel pump failed.
They charged me 1000.00 to repair it. When I got home the tail lights did not work. I was able to climb under the truck and reconnect them. On July 26, 2011 the fuel pump failed again.
It was replaced under warranty. I only paid for the tow. Again they did not hook up the tail lights. On January 16, 2012 the fuel pump failed again.
The dealer said it would not be covered under warranty since it was more than a year and the warranty is from the first fuel pump, not the replacement. The deal er referred me to 1-800 392-3673 to appeal the warranty decision. I spoke to Lisa and again was told the warranty is from the first replaced fuel pump.
This is the last Ford for me. We are very happy with our other car, its a Lexis.
Ford needs to learn from them. I barely get home before someone is calling me to make sure my customer experience was perfect.
